Canandaigua Candlelight Tour
 December 2008 Lucky to participate in the Seventh District Federation Garden Club of New York State Candlelight Tour held this year in Canandaigua, we were one of seven historic homes decorated with fresh greens and flowers for the December 7 event. Approximately 650 people toured our home, some waiting 45 minutes in the bitter cold wind to just get in. Beautiful decorations provided by the Bloomfield Garden Club were found in every room and admired by many. It was great to hear all the oohs and aahs, not only about the wonderful festive decor, but also to see people enjoy our home and to hear the story of our renovation. It was exciting to have so many see our beautiful home all decked out for the holidays! (Got some great ideas for next year too!) Pictures to come soon!

Vow Renewal Time!!!
 November 2008We were honored to be selected as the little romantic getaway place for a 15-year wedding anniversary vow renewal! S & S from Vermont -- who happen to run a little B&B of their own -- renew their vows every five years, and this time it was HIS turn to plan the event and surprise HER by going somewhere far enough away but not too far. Well, although it didn't end up being a surprise, everything else went according to plan! We even have a licensed minister right down the street who we could enlist for the special occasion. (Isn't that handy?) Anyway, we just hope they felt as touched by their simple ceremony as we were. Here! here! to another five years together, S & S! (That's us toasting you, of course!)

Morning Show Debut!
 May 2008 We were fortunate enough to be part of a Rochester area morning news show, highlighting Bed and Breakfasts in the Finger Lakes area. Other than the ungodly hour of being televised (live, no less) at 5:30 a.m., it was actually a lot of fun! Yes, some of us were nervous at the idea of being on live TV for the first time, but Holly Maynard (our very personable host) soon put us at ease. It was a fast three minutes in front of lights and camera, but we were local stars in our own right and we got to show the greater Rochester area a little of ourselves.
